Just one cautionary note:

OP, I've only just seen this thread and it's so sweet. What a kind lady you are, thank you for taking this little cat into your home in her hour of need.
Thanks too, to the people who've given you so much sensible advice. djp64, you're a star :A
Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

We didn't know the dangers at this stage, so the pair of us just looked at each other and said whatever the vet thought best - we didn't know what was going on! hahaha yes she looks a little bit like a rugby ball! She is so happy and content - such a difference from 2 weeks ago, when she was like a little lost soul. We're going back to the vets on the 6th June so hopefully we will have it confirmed ... thank you for your kindness and sensible advice ... Arr your story about Gypsy has made me well up (and I am sitting at my desk at work, oh dear!) I am always overwelmed with the kindness that animal lovers show towards each other, and it makes me laugh at how much we panic if they're unwell! I have 2 cats, Sugar & Muffin who are 16 and still continue to amaze me everyday. Carl, my boyfriend has never had a cat ... little does he know what's in store for him! Thanks again, I will update when I have some news. Lots of love from Liverpool x
I hope you're enjoying the bank holiday weekend and your new furry friend is doing well :-) Carl will enjoy having the kittens - particularly when they start climbing. Humbug and I are keeping our claws and fingers crossed that the pregnancy progresses well. We look forward to more news once you've been to the vet on the 6th. If you do decide to have an ultrasound it shouldn't cost more than £40. Purrs and love from Milton Keynes xx0 -

Kitties are doing well. They now weigh 200g, 190g, 160g and 140g. I had a slight panic attack because I read they should double their birth weight in a week - it took me a minute to realise I only weighed them on day 4!
They're getting really tubby now, which is soo cute. Their markings are also changing quite a bit also, and we're trying to handle them a little every day - not picking them up, but stroking them while mum is with them.
Sugarmuffin, I hope things are well with your little lady?
Loving the pictures - especially the last one :-) Glad they're all doing well and the move was OK. Now that their eyes are opening there is small possibility that they may get sticky eyes. With Mum doing the toileting and then licking their faces / bodies there is a chance that their eyes get sticky / infected. If this does happen then half fill a mug with boiling water and add a few grains (4 or 5) of sea salt). Leave the water to cool until tepid and gently bathe the eyes with the water. I use cotton wool pads and wipe gently from the nose edge of the eye to the outside edge. This will release any stickiness and gently cleanse. If they're still gummy / infected after a couple of days then they may need antibiotic eye drops but this is very rare and touch wood I've not had it with any of my recent foster families.
Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend and thanks for the pictures - don't you love those little milk tummies.

Today we moved mum, babies and box to their new location across the landing from where they were. Mum really didn't like the move, she ran from the old place to the new place in a very stressed fashion, before taking one of the kittens back and leaving it on the floor. We moved the kitten back into the box and stayed with them for ages and eventually she settled in with them. We are now leaving them to become accustomed to their new surroundings, as that is where they will be for the next few weeks.

Hi there! No news yet! Will keep you posted - the photos are gorgeous xxx0 -
Hi Debbie, yes we've had lots of fun this weekend! Chips (we called her that because she followed us home from the chip shop lol) is fine! She has put on more weight ... the strange thing is she is meowwing a LOT, trying to get out and sticking her bum up in the air! Sounds to me if she's in heat and not pregnant????? Oh dear! All will be revealed when we go to the vet on the 6th (if not before ...) Sounds very much like she is in heat! Is she yowling rather than meowing? Mowwwwwh is probably the best way to type it lol!
Perhaps she had just weaned her kittens before she followed you home?I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
RIP POOCH 5/09/94 - 17/09/070 -
Is she paddling her back feet when bum is in the air?0

Hahaha I know! Yes, it sounds like a yowl and exactly like you've typed it lol! If she's not pregnant, we're going to get her neutered in a couple of weeks. We're trying not to wonder where her kittens are, if she had any
- it's not as if we can ask her is it? She was wandering along a busy main road when we saw her so God only knows - I just hope she's not missing them
... will update soon xxx 0
