Hi all.
Be interested to see what people (over 50) think of the online 'tendency to get Alzheimers ' test highlighted in the Daily Mail this week as 'fairly accurate' .
The mail says its a non profit making org, yet I see on their site they promote a clinic, and book etc.
I failed this test and I didnt think my mental capacity was all that bad!!
Are they just creating a market for themselves - how many people failed that didnt expect to ? Any takers?
All the www's food for the brain dot org and close up the spaces.

The Sunday Tines today suggests that in a couple of year's time the online test will be done in GP surgeries and appropriate action planned by the GP and patient.
Which test have you failed?.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Put "Daily Mail Alzheimer's test" into Google and see how many times in the last 2 years the newspaper has run that "news" story.
A sceptic might suggest that it's a bit of paid PR puff for the organisation mentioned.0 -

The link (in my post) is to the actual test, its in four parts but you dont get told which bits you failed.
Scotsbob - Could well be couldnt it (I prefer that idea :T)
I guess some of the answers to the basic questions at the begining are subjective , and so may skew the results before you even take the test.0 -
For anyone wondering if in ticking off all the bumph in the conditions for this test etc you commit yourself to anything , like a repeat test etc, you dont , you make up a name and use whatever email address you want. I used a spare one I keep for such things.0

I don't think that www.foodforthebrain.org is a direct link to the test. Is there more to add after "org"? Do you have to register with the site?0 -
Apparently I "may be at significant risk" on the other hand I may not be
Yorktest Laboratories are based at University of York's Science Park which could look like a plus, but actually means they can afford the rent.
They specialise in testing for food intolerance, so I'm not sure where their experience in brain function comes from......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Hi there. click on that link Ive given you and then click on the square that contains the words
Alzheimers Prevention Project. Takes you to a page where the invitation
to take the test is
Yes and no. You do put in a name and email address , but any old name would do- and I just put a d.o.b. similar to mine, but not mine. Not sure how essential a valid email address would be be. You get the result on the site, not emailed back to you .Maybe they just need the email address if you choose to have the reminder to take the test next year sent to you.0 -
