From what I recall (and to be fair, I should remember this, as it was only a year and a half ago), a form will automatically be sent to your permanent address sometime soon. If you're means-tested, your parents will fill in income etc, send it back and you'll then get a reply saying how much loan you're entitled to. And how much of the fees they have to pay.

You/your parents then just fill in the back of the form to say how much of the loan you want (presumably 100%), confirm your bank details haven't changed, and you should end up with a nice BACS/cheque around the beginning of September.
  • thanks for that :)

thats alot easier than last year then, i missed one of the questions out by accident and got my form sent back to me to fill correctly

am i right in thinking you mean it will be sent to my home address?
  • Your home address is usually used for correspondance, especially since it's your parent(s) that need to provide info (assuming you asked for a means-tested loan).

As a whole, once you've got your loan for the first time, getting future instalments for the remaining years of your course is relatively easy.

It's paying it back that I'm not looking forward to too much..
  • They should be sending the applications out anytime now. I received mine this morning.
