Just moved house - has prepayment meters with Scottish Hydro
Hello there I am new to the forum, hopefully someone can help
We have just moved into a house which has prepayment gas and electric meters installed, whilst we are topping up the gas one as it runs low the electric one seems to be going up in credit rather than down?? We have been there nearly 3 weeks now and never had to put any credit in, cant be right surely?
Reading 'A' reads something like £230 and is increasing as we use more, i dont have instructions for the meter so hopefully someone can help..
Thanks

Have you been sent you own key for the elec or are you using the old tenants one? You should only use your own.
Have you phone the company in case there is a fault on the meter?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Chances are that it is the debt that is increasing as there will be a weekly charge added automatically.
It could be that your meter has been tampered with and that is why you are not having to top it up, you need to get it looked at as soon as posiible as you will be liable for any remedial work that is required and for any estimated usage.0 -
There are 2 electric keys which both seem to give the same reading, we got a letter from Scottish Hydro when we moved in to say welcome and here is your new Gas card, but no mention of electric?0
