Based on what has been said here then the union has a very good case of something for everyone. I can't imagine an employer getting it more wrong. Given the timescales involved here and the statutory notice period, it sounds like you could cobble unfair dismissal, ignoring every redundancy law in the book, unlawful deduction of wages and quite a few other things. It should be a gift of a case!0
