Has anybody used this SmoothOver Damaged Walls

Hi

I have taken the wallpaper off the bottom half of our living room and some of the paint that was there before has come away at the same time.

I really really wanted to paint instead of using wallpaper again. But the surface is uneven in some places.

Yesterday I used an electric sander for a couple of hours. When I had finished I painted one small wall to see what it looked like. It did not look good.

I was thinking of trying this Polycell SmoothOver Damaged Walls Polycell SmoothOver Damaged Walls Polycell SmoothOver Damaged Walls Polycell SmoothOver Damaged Walls but the reviews are rubbish.

Has anybody used it and what did they think or any other ideas would really be appreciated.

Take care and thanks in advance

Another alternative (not suggesting best for you) would be to line the walls with a heavy lining paper and then paint that. When it is done properly the finish can be very good.

Doesn't matter how many times you say it or apply it, you can't beat getting someone who is experienced at plastering just skimming the wall.
Might cost a little bit more, but worth it if it's a wall you're going to see every day.
It's a quick job, but only get someone who is recommended by somebody you can trust to do the job. It's a skill I can only admire, but as such don't mind paying someone to do.
