HSBC Current Account

Hi all,
I am new here and wondered if anyone had any experience with opening an HSBC Current Account online... I applied in March and was rejected, and was told I couldn't have a basic bank account with them as I had a basic bank account elsewhere. When I first applied my credit score was 713, in April was 733 and have just applied again in May for the account. My credit has no adverse information, just not very much history. When rejected I was advised straight away on the screen when applying, this time it said application being processed and recieved, does that mean it has been accepted?
Also, does anyone have experience of the switching process? Is it straightforward? I am moving from Clydesdale Bank.
Many thanks for any help!!

My most recent switch to them took about two months instead of one to complete. It seems to take them longer than other banks to get into gear. They are more reliant on a paper trail too (i.e. lots of letters telling you when things haven't happened etc) So, compared to other banks (and here, I'm thinking of Lloyds and Nationwide) it's a bit amateurish but they get there in the end.Blue_Bubble wrote: »does anyone have experience of the switching process? Out of curiosity, what commended HSBC rather than another organisation?.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Really? That's pretty bad! Right now all I have done is apply for the account online, I ticked the box that said I was interested in the switch... if I am successful in the credit scoring part, do you think I'll be able to back out of them switching the account? Because I could easily do that myself in a few phone calls!!
I chose HSBC as my partner and I switch money between us for things on a regular basis, and thought it'd be easier to be with the same bank... I'm currently with Clydesdale and with a move to London seeming likely (From Glasgow) I was happy to go along with moving to his bank.
Can you remember how long it was before you found out if you were successful with the application?
Thanks for replying
