Hi i have just got a new sky hd box and was wondering is there anyway of using my old hd box as a recorder in the bedroom or as just a player by temporarily re-connecting it downstairs to record then taking it upstairs to watch in the bedroom,

You would need a multi room subscription to do this.To watch ftv/fta channels though you only need to plug a satelite cable from the box to the dish.0

You can pay Sky £10 a month to enable the recording facility on a Sky Plus box but you only get the free channels.0
