Best way to sell my car?

Options
Hello,

I was wondering if I could get some advice off people in regards to selling my car. Its a peugeot 206 06 plate 1.4 verve in good condition.

Im going to be moving to central london so wont be needing it anymore. Im not in a great hurry to sell but would the sooner the better really.

Im not too sure where is best to avertise it. Autotrader seems really expensive, do many people look on autotrader anymore? Any ideas where to stick it up?

Im thinking that I want around £3000 for it. From looking around it seems an attractive price.

Any Thoughts?... Anyone want to buy it lol

I used We Buy Anycar, tried their online quote and was happy with the quote so I booked an appointment, went there and they gave me £300 more than the quote because my car was in good condition.

You appear to have been lucky. There have been many people recently appearing in the news/watchdog type programmes/forums whereby people have had an online quote yet upon taking the car to them they then reduced the quote. They know as people are desperate and already expecting to sell their car, they'll accept reduced offers - ripping people off is the general consensus.

I'd either go with local newspapers or autotrader and be realistic in your valuations. Ebays fees are often a turn-off for people selling cars too.

First of all, find out what the trade value is. Use the valuation tool on the Vauxhall website (in the Finance section) to check Glass's guide for a typical P/X price.

See how that bears with your expectation (£3k sounds cheap for a 06 plate, tbh, depending on condition and mileage)

Get a value from WBAC just to see what they offer. It'll be in line with the trade value mentioned earlier, not a retail price.

put it on ebay auction for £8 or buy it now with best offer, auction probably best and try to sell it off ebay. If it sells there is minimum £20 final value fee may be alittle more for 3000 if acaully sells on ebay at end of auction. Be prepared to get winning bidders who back out no show. I had good results most the time on there. If your lucky you'l get an offer they come and buy then just take ad of ebay, only cost £8 :)

I generally sold stuff much quicker on ebay than autotrader selling privatly, get a huge audience on ebay i alway scanning the car ads. very quick and easy too.
  • Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated. I'll take a look at Ebay thanks. Happy that you think £3000 is cheap, might take a look and see if I can get more for it. I shall let you know how I get on.

    Cheers
