So if prices rise by 20% over the period of the fix you will win.

Also different comparison websites will put different levels of commission onto their prices, for example if one comparison site put an extra 0.1 uplift on their price compared to another site, this would equate to £6.50 difference based on your usage.

Can you show examples of this happening?

Energyhelpline actually makes your "spend" more if you are getting discounts from your current supplier (I.e. if you currently only pay £1200 a year for your gas and electric because you are getting online discounts for instance and dual fuel discounts etc) it does not take these into account when they work out a comparison for you.

I put in a spend of £100 a month being £1200 a year for dual fuel with EON FIx 8 (which is what we actually spend) and according to Energyhelpline my spend is £1611 and they can save me (NOT) £117 a year. Actually they cannot save me anything as my spend is only £1200 so they cannot beat it and to take out their "cheapest" comparison would be costing £294 MORE than present. Very misleading.

no you HAVE to put in your numbers in in annual KwH or you will get non-representative results, garbage information in = garbage information out every time.
Any views on the best utility comparison site(s)?

Best way is use a comparison site or two to work out the tariff you should be on then use a cashback site to switch directly with your supplier and get the commission/cashback for yourself too :)

Hi when you say cashback site I take it you mean Quidco or similar not a comparison site. Is that correct?

Why would they give you cashback if you are only switching within the same supplier?

Thats not what they do at all, as pointed out to you in the other thread you were ranting in.

Price comparison sites work and ARE accurate as long as you know how to use them and actually read the information they provide.
