HSBC Account confusion

I applied for a basic bank account, they obviously applied for a full account for me as I failed the credit check as I knew I would, said I can have their basic bank account but it doesn't have a solo card. I've seen people with HSBC solo cards & have seen basic bank accounts listed as HSBC having a solo card, but the info leaflet & on the phone both say/said no. Anyone know for sure or work there?

UKTigerlily, no solo card on a basic bank a/c.
What you get is just a cash withdrawal card.
Hope this helps.0 -
HSBC's basic account doesn't come with a Solo card, as already stated it just comes with a cashcard. Their under 18s accounts come with a Solo card.
If you specifically want a Solo card then apply for Natwest's Step account.

Other basic accounts that come with a debit card -
Maestro card: Yorkshire Bank/Clydesdale Bank - Readycash account
Visa Electron:
Co-operative Bank - Cashminder account
Halifax - Easycash account
