Hmmm, what makes you think this is a Philips???
  • these type of digital photo frames were reviewed on the gasdjet show recently and as far as i remember they got quite poor reviews ... all price ranges ...

Assumption alone, as it looked the same!. Now I know that to assume makes an !!! out of u and me, so I should probably know better.

I thought it would be a good gift for my parents, as they are high tech types, and would love this kind of thing. I would happily accept any advise from others who already have one, to know if they are worth it or not?

  • It's an 'Iplay' (never heard of them) but 50 quid is a good price for it.

Well, I bought the one on Amazon for £49.99 couple months ago. I would say picture quality is not mind-blowing but is of an acceptable standard.

I have just purchased the same one again, this will be for my desk at work. I am happy with the product.
  • Excuse my naivity but does it have a built in card, or do you have to use the one from your camera?

Can they also store a moving picture? like a christmas wish from their granddaughter?

found this thread whilst researching digital photo frames...
I too want to buy one as present for the parents
    have a couple of questions..

Can you only load photos by inserting a SD (or other) card? or can you link the frame up to a PC via USB cable ? Because the ATMT frame on Amazon says it comes with a usb cable so I'm wondering what that's for?

If its only with a card then is there anyway you can load pictures onto a card from a PC (so I wouldn't have to keep sending SD cards to the parents - I would be able to email them photos and they could load onto cards?)

Hope you see where I'm coming from - not very tech savy!:o
  • I use my archos 7" mp4 player. It holds 1000's of pics.I took it to a framers & got a detachable frame made up.Its far better than what you can buy in shops at present
