Electric Mopeds - questions
Is there anyone on here that has much knowledge about electric powered mopeds such as the one's illustrated in the link below:
http://www.fun2ride.co.uk/v2/fun5.html
I have been thinking of getting one for my wife, but I know nothing what-so-ever on the things, such as license, taxing, road legal stuff. I have looked about the net but found various and often misleading info. The problem I have also is that I cannot find anyone local who specializes in these kind of electric mopeds to ask questions too. (I am from Wolverhampton, West Midlands) hence to why I am asking here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try messaging the supplier in the link, they should know instead of trying fruitlessly searching the net for it0

There are answers to a lot (if not all) of your questions on the information page of their website.

Doh!, how did I miss that. Thank you 'wealdroam' :beer:0 -
I have seen some similar scooters for sale at the place I bought my electric bike, this is what I was told by the salesman.
The scooters are heavy. The scooters have pedals to comply with the law but are too heavy to propel by pedal alone. The lead acid batteries are now old technology and are very heavy.
Have you thought about an electric bike? I have two, a folding type and a hybrid type, both have lithium batteries and both can be pedalled without the need to use the electric motor but the motor comes in very handy for setting off and climbing hills, both of which I find difficult because I have Arthritis in both knees.
Do a lot more research before buying a scooter, unless you buy a petrol one (which I also have). Try the Pedelec Forum.
