Can l please ask those with more knowledge than myself if Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 (x3 User) is what l should be looking at.
Am waiting for delivery of new laptop which has Microsoft Office Starter 2010, My old laptop has Microsoft Office 2007 which l use alot and indeed need to be able to open said documents on new the laptop.
My understanding is that Microsoft Office Starter 2010 has limited-functionality versions of Word and Excel, so l might be ok. However we have another 2 laptops (all Windows 7) in the house that has Mircosoft Works which in truth is of no use, particularly for my DD.
So what l am really needing confirmed is that Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 (x3 User) is what l need. I'm just checking as l don't want to buy it and then can't get a refund if wrong thing.
Many thanks

It really depends how intensively you use Office. It should be ok for basic Word/Excel, but it does include adverts.
Don't forget Home and Student doesn't have Outlook.

I tried going back to OpenOffice as I have a Mac as well as a PC. However in Excel 2010 for example, there's lots of little things it does that you don't realise how useful they are until they're no longer there. Some things on my accounts spreadsheet required 2 or 3 mouseclicks or keypresses to do the same as Excel would do with one or just automatically.
There was a lot in OpenOffice that drove me mad after a while.0 -
software 4 students is £38 for professional plus, not sure on the licensing though or if you can get additional licenses for it.
