Student account for part time student

Hi, im finishing off my final module at university, and have been looking to get a student account for my final year.

I recently applied with the halifax, and when i first popped in i did ask wether i could get an account, being only part time, and they said yes that would be no problem.

Anyways to cut a long story short two trips to the university and the bank later (at a cost of around 10 pounds in bus fare) and i was told "sorry we dont do that for part time students", so after me saying well why did the person on the counter say that then? you have wasted 10 pounds of my limited money etc, the compassion of the sales droid was clear to see (or not)

Anyways does anyone know of any student accounts for part time students?

Have checked a couple of sites, but to no luck.

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers

Kev

Just tell them you're fulltime. Unless your UCAS form says you're doing it Part Time.

Not really wanting to commit fraud, and also the forms i have been given says part time.

Will just have to bite the bullet so to speak

Student accounts are just basically current accounts with interest free overdrafts. I'm almoast certain that they are for full-time university students only. The only place you might have luck is an online bank, such as smile.co.uk, IIRC they offer an interest free overdraft of upto £2k, so perhaps worth looking into! However, as a part-time student I'd be more inclined to get a job and a decent savings account. ;)
