how long does a paypal refund take?

Hi,
Could someone tell me how long a refund takes through Paypal? Will the money show up in the buyers account straight away or does it take days to transfer like it does when withdrawing? Does the seller incur any fees for the service? I have never had to give a refund before.... Thanks in advance

  • Log into paypal and view the transaction, at the bottom of the page is an option to refund the payment. Did you use this?
You can only do a refund if you have sufficient funds in your paypal account. If you did the refund it will be instant.
If you do not have enough funds then you will need to add the funds from your bank account and this can take upto 2 weeks.

I don't think the refund is always instant - I think it can take a few days to show up on the buyer's credit card account.

I made a couple of refunds to someone and they delayed leaving me feedback until the refund came through.

Maybe it's instant if you've been paid with cleared funds?
