Tobacco prices in Spain?

i'm off to spain mid week.... a friend has asked if i can bring back 200 Embassy Number 1 for him.... i've agreed but now i'm wondering how much it will cost last time i was out there they cost 38.50 euro's and Golden virgina was 48.50 Euro's for 10 pouches... i was wondering if they have gone up since oct 2010?

shows latest information - and as all 'Tabacs' are regulated by the government, every shop should be the same.

Just to advise though, all tobacco brough back is supposed to be for your own 'personal use'.

and please, only bring back 1 brand per person travelling, otherwise customs may query this.

Tobacco taxes have really shot up in Spain recently. They are in an even bigger financial mess than we are.

As previously stated all tabacs prices are set by the goverment so it doesnt matter where you are in spain it will be the same, the only exception is duty free shops at the airport where its actually more expensive

Karenmay, All spanish tobacco prices are regulated by the government, and can only be bought from official 'Tabacs' (big yellow signs), so prices identical. Only exception is the airport which, IIRC, was slightly more expensive.

Buying cigs from anywhere else could be risky. I'm not sure if you can be fined or not, but they could be fake cigs too.

Just best to bite the bullet and pay their prices. Still cheaper than here. At the end of the day, it's not you paying, it's your friend. Just make sure they know roughly how much they are going to cost so he is aware before you buy them (in case they are expecing them for £20 or so). However if they turn round and say when you get back they dont want them, i'll have then............ Lol
