Hi all, hope you can help.
I'm using firefox and the default search / page is google.
However, when I open a new tab, it's the yahoo search page.
I,ve tried about:config
add remove programmes
firefox add on's and extentions etc and just can't stop it doing this.
Any ideas appreciated. Thanks...:D

Could be another extension, e.g. freeze.com assistant extension does it.
You could run Firefox in safe mode (Help > restart with addons disabled), or manually disable all extensions to see if that helps. If you list all your extensions, it might help (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/extension-list-dumper/).
If not, try disabling Java in the browser as a test and see if it still happens:
Tools > Options > Content tab by unchecking Enable JavaScript. (can re-enable after)0 -
Thanks for that.
I found and disabled freeze.com.
Now when I open a new tab, yahoo web search is gone, but the page just says "new tab" there is no search engine on it.
When I used to open a new tab, it would basically be a copy of the home page, ie; google.
Thanks again for your helpHappiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
Firefox->Options, General tab and change the option for "When firefox starts".....0

Some extensions might restore that function for you:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-utilities/ > Load in new tab, then put https://www.google.co.uk

Thanks,
That worked a treat. You're a star....:D
Edit.
Out of curiousity, if freeze.com is re-enabled, the new tab will still open as Yahoo. Do you know why that is?Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -

Just catching up and Googled freeze .com, it seems it's a right pain, you've done the right thing, best rid of it.
