My cat disrupting my sleep

There is nothing you can do to stop them. You can prevent them by locking them out your room, but this has its own problems. But how about this, years ago I had a cat that would gently bite my nose, but not OH at 3am everyday and how everyone laughed. Anyway my sister came and cat sat while we holidayed and yes she got the 3oc treatment. Oh how I laughed.0

I've had a couple of cats that had their own ways of getting my attention when I was asleep. One was quite subtle and used to gently pull my eyelids open and peer at me but my last cat used a more direct approach, he just used to stick his paw in my mouth. Yuk!0 -
I had exactly the same trouble with my cat, bless him lol.
When I was married, my ex-husband used to allow him to come upstairs on the bed, although to be fair he usually snuggled up to me and went to sleep until I got up for work. When we split up a year ago and I got 'custody', he started waking me in my new place at 5am by trampling all over me and nuzzling me lol so I ended up shutting him downstairs. He is in the living room and his food/litter are in the kitchen so he is OK.
He's not quite ready to let things lie though, he now gets on top of the sofa which is nearest to the door leading up to the stairs to my bedroom and calls up to me (the door is shut btw).....this varies from day to day but usually he waits until my alarm clock goes off but needless to say if I try and have a lay-in on weekends he has other ideas lol.
I'd shut her downstairs and as long as she has her essentials then she will be ok - mine got used to it quickly enough, he just makes up for it by being my second alarm clock now lol0 -

:rotfl: This made me laugh - although I'd hardly call a cat pulling your eyelids open subtle!! They are funny aren't they :rotfl:0 -
I'm pretty lucky, Alice is very good. She also has free roam of the flat and she'll just nap patiently on my bed till she hears my alarm go off, then she'll start bothering me, but only by sitting on my chest purring and staring at me.
On the odd occassion she's being annoying an noisy I shut her in the kitchen for a few hours, it's not going to do her any harm.0 -
Hi all
My girl used to do the same, particularly during the spring/summer with the light mornings. I've found that if I put her breakfast in to one of those automatic pet feeders to flip up at around 4 or 5 am, she will happily trot off my bed, have her breakfast, and then either jump back on the bed and go back to sleep or study the world from the spare bedroom window. Hope that helps.0 -

What's this you speak of? I've never seen/heard of it. I want me one of them
I've had such a laugh reading about the antics of your cats. Makes me feel less like I've got a delinquent on my hands actually :rotfl: I like her getting up on the bed and having a wee fuss, just not as early as she does it.
If a moth flew in the bathroom window in the night all hell broke loose and she jumps all over me until I'm up on my feet. Then she uses me as height to get the feathery-headed critter by getting on my shoulder. It's like a big game hunt. Once she launched herself at me in the dead of night whilst I was actually sitting on the loo, half asleep.
