Where to go for ecommerce site?

Can anyone tell me a moneysaving way of setting up an ecommerce site? would it be wordpress with plugins, or go to someone like godaddy or 123 reg with their 'instant site' options.

Alternatively is it worth looking at something like elancer or rentacoder?

I would like a really nice looking site for my craftwork but can't afford to pay a professional UK webdesigner.

Having a demo site is one thing, having an ecommerce website attracting an audience who know how to trust you, and kept up to date with security patches is another. Unless you want to invest some decent time on this, spend money.

That said, what about ebay and etsy? Yes they take 10% or so, but they manage all the security, payment processing, and bring you buyers.

well if you get a hosting account make sure it has Softaculous auto installer this has oscommerce, zencart, opencart, freeway and several more ecommerce scripts. you can go to their own respective sites and get free templates so it looks good.

Also to run a good secure ecommerce site you need a hosting account with a dedicated IP and a SSL certificate, so all sensitive details are encrypted
