I suppose it's where you stand politically.
The gap between the highest and lowest achievers in NI is greater than in most regions/countries.
The GCSE results for pupils attending Grammar schools are not much better than those attending non-Grammar schools - once you take English/Gaeilge and Maths into consideration.
In most countries Grammar schools are an outdated concept which embed exclusion.(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding - Nick Lowe0 -

I just cannot agree with you....english and maths should be counted. Also,of course it matters what school you attend, how come a secondary boys school in Derry had a class of 3rd years tested for reading ability....the average ability turned out to be age 6.0 -

It's the second most important department unfortunately, as said before DUP grabbed Finance with 1st choice, SF want to continue their "Good" work in education. They aim to have all school leavers counting to 10 and able to fill in a Job Seekers form by the time they leave school at 16

Our education system was considered the best in the UK and envied by others, now it looks as if we can just about fill in a bru form :mad:I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
