Thanks for the link GrumpyCrab, it does look like its got good oomph especially compared with my current desktop PC (which is fast enough) at 548!!!
I also use that site for comparing cpus, one small point, you currently have XP, the new one will have Win 7.
I used to have 28/30 processes running with XP, Win 7 has more processes running, I've around 48/50.
Don't be put off, it won't be 4x faster, only about 3.5x faster.
For the record, I have a processor scoring around 2000 with 4Gb ram, and I've rarely had it break into more than a slight perspiration, and I probably use it harder than you are intending to use yours.:)Move along, nothing to see.0
