XD card, lost pics.

How can I get pics that I seem to have lost from my XD card. I was downloading them when something went wrong and now it seems I need to reformat the card. Will I loose the pics if I do this?

try this 1st before you format the card

once the card is formatted it'll be difficult to retreive anything

Only just noticed that Santer already mentioned Testdisk. How'd you go by the way?
