I'm going mad  I have a small network with 2 desktops & 2 laptops and its all working fine apart from one of the desktops which will not stay connected to the net. It may work for a min or two but then I get this page cannot be displayed...... and and error message saying limited or no connectivity. I have checked and my LAN is supposed to be connected, I have tried to repair the connection but nothing happens and I have downloaded the windows update that I thought may solve the problem also. Finally I have tried resetting my router/turning off firewalls with no luck.

I am lost when it comes to things like this, can anyine help?

    What operating system ?

    If hardware....

If you are using wire - have you tried swapping the cables with the working/non woking pc just at the pc end - do not swop over at the hub yet See if the problem transfers ? Has your hub/router any lights for the ports ?

Sorry knew I was forgetting something! The desktops are wired and the laptops wireless. The router does have lights on, all are lit up and flashing away. Swapping the cables, hmmmm not thought of that one will take me a while though as the comps aren't too close together :rotfl: Thanks for the help so far guys ;)

Well swop at the hub/router end first - maybe the cable/port or network card (NIC) is the problem - that will just check the port first. If other comp works with the non working comps cable and port it is the non working comps NIC or NIC configuration.

Are you using DHCP - is it tied into the MAC address ? And of course did you change anything before the problem occurred ?
