Help!! Hotmail address breached

I was hoping someone could help me. I have just gone into my hotmail account on my pc, I've been accessing my emails from my iphone for a few days.

It asked me for my password which it does sometimes and I entered it, all fine. I was then horrified to find that the name on my account had been changed to Shelby Smith and a photo which isn't me had been added, I had had a photo on my account and this has vanished!

What do I need to do? My immediate reaction was to delete the photo and change my name back. Do I have to abandon this address now?

How does this happen?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

To send you a birthday card. Seriously it could have been a give-away using what looks like a memorable thing it helps to guess really. Hopefully the problem was because you left the phone on the table unlocked whils you bought the drinks or whatever an a friend was taking the pee for you. If not your friends will be getting Viagra/!!!!!!/Whatever ads from you soon. If you think your PC has been compromised then download Malwarebyte and update and then post the log. If you normally just use webmail via phone and PC browser then it is more a chance that you account was accessed via the old password.

Mmm interesting, can't help the OP, but a couple of weeks back I was spammed by the daughter of a friend who also used her iPhone/Hotmail when out and about, and a Mac at home.

    Is something sinister going on?

Coincidently it was for Viagra etc, and she has just started her first 'proper' job for a medical supplies company, :rotfl:

p.s. she also spammed her new boss. :o
    Move along, nothing to see.

Thanks for your help. Don't think it has been accessed by my phone lying around, so Imy friends may be getting some ads. I'm not sure what shocked me more the name change of my profile or the photo!

I'm in the process of running Microsoft security essentials. Also have Malware and will run that afterwards. Have Norton 360 too!

That may just be an odd coincidence but I work for a Pharmaceutical company. Not selling Viagra!
