What deduction to your credit score does a creditcard application make please ??
After an application my score is 899, what would it have been previously ??
Kind regards.

The credit score by Experian has absolutely no bearing or significance outside of the website. Noone else can see it, and noone cares.
But you'll see a drop of around 40-50 points. So your new score would be around 840 - 850 mark. Not that it matters in the least.
Hope this helps

Many thanks for the response. I was just interested as I had appied for a creditcard and was declined... I signed up to Experian and Equifax as I was curious to why.... I noticed on Experian my credit score although as already highlighted in so many threads on this forum is not really that significant was 899, I just wanted to know what an application for a creditcard would deduct from your score.
I know now it was possibly due to me being offered a Barclaycard the week previous and most likely my potential credit limit via all my cards that was the reason I was declined.0 -
