Nor should being the wayward child of a homeowner, but it does.

What are you going on about now, are you saying when home owners pass away they should give their house to the council so they can put a workshy scumbag in it.

Everybody is entitled to tax breaks on their savings.

Not everybody gets a free house.

Why are you saying people have got 20,30% deposits, my friend will one day have that kind of deposit but its probably going to take close to ten years for it to happen because he has to private rent because scrounging scumbags take priority over him.

Stop making things up and twisting them to make it sound like you are right, you ask me to explain what i mean on things so i do and then you just come back with a twisted response again and again.

And everybody is entitled to apply for social housing.

I’d stop worrying about the work-shy scumbags in council house and start to worry about the one claiming LHA in the house next to your new house when you buy it.

    Correct.

The problem is that there are hard working people out there who have to private rent whilst trying to save a deposit for a house of their own and they could do this much faster if all scrounging scumbags were kicked out of their council house and it was given to somebody who is saving a deposit.

That is kind of the point of this thread, the OP asked is it right that somebody should have a council house for life if they can afford to buy their own.

I dont think it is right.

I dont think it is right.

So, we kick all the benefit claiming social housing tenants out of their affordable tenancies and into expensive privately rented properties while keeping social housing for those who will use the opportunity to save for a deposit.

Of course, they still won't be able to save for a deposit as their tax will have increased to fund the massive increase in the cost of LHA while the price of housing stretches further and further out of their reach while the BTL brigade make hay on the back of guaranteed LHA rental income.
