The finance is secured against the car, if you can't pay they won't just take whatever you feel like paying them, they'll take the car instead. I think the main problem is you're not getting the advice you want to hear

the payment is now due and i suppose it's my girlfriends fault the company she worked for got sold to the europeans making her redundent inadvertantly affecting her credit as she sacrificed other creditors just to make sure ford were paid in full even when we couldn't afford it, when she took the deal she had worked for her company for 15 years so couldn't predict the future and the deal seemed the best one at the time i would say a car is brand new as long as it is sitting on the forcourt as everyone knows the minute you drive it away you lose a percentage of the cars value with anything upto 40% in the first year

    Nobody can predict the future.
Your situation is very unfortunate but you cannot expect Ford's to break the original agreement.

if you can't afford to pay a loan they have to accept your offer as a court would side with the debtor in that situation

And have you actually been to Court to argue your poverty?? Thought not. You've just decided they will play by your rules.

The bottom line is you have had 3yrs to save up for this known payment but have failed to do so, instead just relied on someone else giving you the money in advance of repayment.

Another petulant child throwing toys all over the place as you aren't getting the cuddles you desire.

Buy a car you can afford next time rather than assuming everyone will fall over themselves for your custom. You are not a good risk.

thanks for any help in advance
    You're welcome. :D
My partner brought a car on finance from ford 3 years ago on their options plan with a baloon payment of 3k at the end of the agreement or we could use the car to part exchange for a newer model.
My girlfriend has been with ford credit for 6 years and has never missed a payment.
Had you thought of asking your girlfriend to buy a car for your partner? :p

Sell the car to WBAC for £4500, clear the loan, and buy a car for £1500. Then use the £150 pcm to save for your next car.

They wouldn't get half that if they went to We Buy Any Car.

Hmmm I don't know if the car is yours to sell if you haven't made the final payment, and as upsetting as it is to hear, and as indelicately as some people have put it, you are hosed. The finance company want what was agreed and think you are now too risky to lend more money to. By all means try other lenders, but I suspect you may get similar answers, at least from the respectable lenders.

Get an old banger for work, maybe? Gutting to lose the new car you've had, totally, but it sounds like a new car is now a luxury you can't afford...

already taken it to them and the original web offer was 4995 which magically dropped to 3354 which is a 25% drop if my calculations are correct which is what i read somewhere that is what they do

we were going to do that but as we buy any car have valued it at 3354 not going to get enough for a old banger we used glass's to get a private valuation and it says my car should be worth 6k in good condition so will list it privately for 5k as it has a dent

no we haven't had 3 years to save up as we were going to part exchange the car.
But as i said before my gf lost her job last year and in the space of the 6 mths it took to find a new job her credit took the hit, if we had known her company would sell out we would have done it over 5years credit. Once again you assume i can predict the future.
As for a car we can afford next time, what the f£$k do you think im driving a bmw it's a fiesta worth 10k when brought new and that was well within our budget as she was earning near on 30k a year.
I know people who earn less than that and drive around in merc's and bmw so to say we are irresponsible for getting a car well within our budget is crazy
