Claiming LHA and being a student

Since being on restricted duties I have been living on less than £600, but that is after the mortgage, I still have to pay for car insurance, diesel, council tax etc out of the £600, I have two kids so I think you should be able to manage fine.
You just have to live to a strict budget.
I am looking forward to my ill health retirement as I have worked out I shall be better off doing 16 hours a week in a low stress job, actually I will be £400 better off before you even look at things like council tax benefit and housing benefit.
Don't know why I bothered working up to 72 hours a week on shifts for the past ten years in the NHS, much better to do 16 hours and have a claim up, nice.0 -

I thought going on IS did seem a bit weird as I've had to go through a long assessment for recieving ESA. No one would go through that if they could just claim IS surely?
So I go back to my original question, how are my partner and I supposed to be able to afford to live together? We both can't live off a maintance loan and a weekend job. My boyfriend can't not have his maintanance loan taken into account. I can't do anything else regarding income as obviously I'm too ill to work. I just want to live somewhere where my partner can look after me and I can try and get better again. There surely must be an option for us?
If you cant afford to live together dont until you can work, thats the only way because he will be assessed as having the loan even if he didnt and what he gets is enough in the eyes of the benefit for you both to live on.0 -

I don't understand why you're bringing the rent into it.
You will receive Housing benefit (LHA) for help with rent.
Check your local authority website to see what the allowances are for your area, you will get the majority of this due to low income.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0 -

you dont need to be receiving any specific benefits to get LHA. havinbg a low income entitles you.0 -

You must have a big mortgage or you maths don't add up. How will you be £400 better off with 10 years service?0
