Freezer in the sunshine?

Very quick question - our supposedly frost free hotpoint freezer is pretty much completely clogged up with ice. I reckon this is because its rubbish and cheap, my wife reckons this is because its in a position in the kitchen where it gets a lot of sun on the front of it and the extra warmth is making it screw up. I don't think this would be the case, but I'm asking you clever lot if theres anything in her thinking

Is the door shutting shutting fully and properly?
The water that forms the ice usually comes from the moist air in the atmosphere.
I would check the door seals to see if they fit snugly.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
