Jenni_D said:Is your current policy a "lifetime" policy? (i.e. it continues to cover for issues previously claimed for, even as the policy renews). If yes then taking out a new policy may mean that such issues are no longer covered as they're classed as pre-existing issues - i.e. issues that existed prior to the insurance policy commencing.
Something to consider.
Yes it is a 'lifetime' policy and I had thought of that particular problem. Fortunately, there have, to date, been no 'issues' or claims. However, i do need to read all the 'small print' in the Terms and Conditions to see if there are any flaws in my suggestion; particularly relating to have two policies in force at the same time even though one is effectively not covering anything! It is said that there is a limit to everything. This cannot be true as everything has no limit!0
