If you get an automated call like this does anyone listen past this point or like me just take it as a cue to actually hang up?

always hang up. sometimes I hang up during the pause after I've said 'hello' and before the message starts.

Good idea. Does anyone know how I can stop these? They are on my mobile and I have TPS on the home phone.

I remember the first time I heard one of those, years ago. I didn't know it was a recording, I was listening to the message and I said, apprehensively 'Is this a robot..?' the message continued so I hung up.

I normally leave the phone off the hook while the message plays to waste their phone bill

I get them, usually after having any discussion with energy companies like british gas.

I don't know where they got my number from but I got 3 yesterday!!

Usually from 7pm to 10pm as well, quite intrusive calls. And a very posh male voice talking.

Thats the one. Got another one before so out of interest I listened on and it said I could claim against the accident I had recently.

Must have got amnesia from this accident because I can't remember having it!!
