I have had Sky HD since October and had it connected to my LG 42LF7700 via a HDMI cable without any problems
Since January it has been playing up. When you select a HD channel it shows up as normal in the small window but when you select it to view all you get is audio along with either a blue or green screen
Sky engineer came out and tried to convince me that 720 should be selected under the settings of the HD box!
Told him it was a full 1080p TV and that it had initially been set up by the installation team as 'auto' in the settings section of the HD box
I looked tonight and he has altered the box settings to 1080i?
Is this correct for me to get the full HD experience out of my set or is he trying to pull the wool
Cheers

Sky don't transmit in full HD, the best they can manage is 1080i.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0

Green or black screen seems to be an HDMI handshaking problem - Unlike most analogue cables, devices at either end of the cable have to talk to each other and I've seen them get confused before.
I've no idea why it worked before and now doesn't, but the fastest and probably easiest thing to do is to try a different HDMI lead. Cheapo ones CAN cause problems.0 -

Rather than worrying about if the engineer set right settings, you need to ask yourself that with current settings i.e. 1080i do you get same picture quality as you were getting before january?0 -
1080i is the best setting for the Sky+HD box, having it on auto results in annoying changes in resolution dependent on the programme/channel selection. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
