Puppy Poos...

Hey peeps, as some of you know I have a new puppy, she is 9 weeks old on Friday. She had her first jab last Thurs and a worming treatment on Sunday.
Her poo was fine when I first got her, just got runnier as the day went on and she drank more. But since jab and worming, it is always runny... I am going to phone vets in a minute when they open.
I have not given her any food or water since yesterday, any other suggestions as to what to do? She's quite happy in herself! SHe is on James Wellbeloved Puppy dry and just water...
:o

Call the vets and ask their advice. I'm not sure why you are witholding water but I think that is a very bad idea, if pups has the runs chances are she is dehydrated and needs water to drink.

Was she in the same food before you had her? How long have you had her?

Worming and jabs can cause the runs, but so can changing foods too quickly. If you haven't had her long, and gave her a new food righe away without mixing in some of the old for a week or so, this could be making it worse.

I agree about the water, you MUST let her drink, or she will get dehydrated very quickly. Runny poos aren't caused by drinking too much.
Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Sorry!

I've had her 2 weeks now, she's on same food as she was with breeders as I wanted to avoid too much change and its good stuff anyway. It was only over night she hadn't had water.

She's running round like a total loon at he moment with one of my slippers...

Will try the probiotic treats x
