Ex-student- stick with parent's address, or rented flat address?

Hello,
I graduated from university about a year and a half ago and have been working full time since I left university. I've lived in a number of different places (all rented accommodation) while I was at university, and am now living in a rented flat which I moved into when I finished university.
While I was a student all my bank accounts, mobile phone contracts and credit cards were registered to my parent's address. Since I started my job, I figured it was about time that I stopped bothering my parents with mail, so I changed the address on my bank account to the rented flat that I'm living in. I haven't updated the address on my other cards yet as I wasn't sure if I should move all my accounts to this address. The flat is currently rented and I don't intend to stay in it for more than 8 months, so I figured it would probably cause me more hassle to change everything.
This year, I have only applied for two things that involved a credit check (a store card and a mobile phone from 3) and I applied for both of them using the address of the rented property that I'm in at the moment. The store card application went through fine (and came with a reasonable limit on the card), but I'm having no luck with my application to 3. My partner (who lives at the same address as me) had similar problems with ordering a mobile phone from O2 Online a year ago. Despite double checking her details, they always said that the credit check had failed on the application. She went to an O2 store a few days later and got a new phone without any problems.
I've never had problems getting phones in the past from O2 Online when I used my parents address, so I'm confused as to what my options are. Should I transfer everything back to my parent's address and then get a credit report, or should I move everything to this address, then get a credit report? I've no idea what the previous tenants were like, so I'm not sure if they ran up big debts and what impact this would have on me.
Has anyone had a similar experience when dealing with rented places? What would you recommend that I do to try and sort this all out? Thanks!

Previous tenants don't affect your credit - so even if they ran up big debts, it wouldn't matter to you.
I think your problem might be more basic that that. If you haven't been at the address very long, and if you're not on the electrol roll, then this affects your credit rating. In addition, they will look for you at that address and only see the bank account as you haven't moved the other accounts to this address. So they may decide you don't have enough credit history.
You either need to do an all or nothing. So move everything to the new addess (and get on the electrol roll) or move the bank account back to your parents address.0 -
I think its the Electoral roll thingy, I had same trouble if you havent been at an address very long
