As far as I understand it, this organisation will help with creditor negotiations, and advise you, regardless of income (and it's all free):

You mention your daughter is disabled - remind Abbey that the disability payments belong to her, and that the DWP will take a poor view of them being grabbed by them........insist they refund those payments at the very least, as they are not allowed to do this.

Ask to see a manager when you go in - don't be fobbed off.

If they persist with trying to keep the DLA in your local branch, then contact their head office and ask them why their staff are breaking the law.

As your daughter is disabled, then you are much more likely to get assistance from Social Services - call the Child Disability team at your local SS and ask to see a worker for some help and support - they are obligated to assess what help/support you need as a carer, and what help/support your daughter currently needs.

Many disabilities also have support groups and networks of charities that help - you could try "Googling" her disability to see what support groups are around - many help with financial issues.

NatWest used to do a basic "Steps" bank account - you got a Solo cashcard and could have money paid in and pay DD's from it. As long as you had ID, they made no credit checks etc., - might be worth a punt to get an account open away from Abbey.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
