Dell laptop battery - where to complain?

Options
My Dell Vostro 1520 laptop's battery has died in just over an year's usage. Obviously I am not very satisfied with the performance and would like to complain. I have mailed to the customer service, using the internet form, but dont get reply from there.

Is there any other email id/escalation I can try?

Thanks
Vikram

As far as I remember, it did say that everyhing including battery is warrentied for an year. I have had my other dell laptops battery running fine for more than 2.5 years now.

If you have had it for just over 'an' year....

...and it is 'warrentied' for 1 year????

    TOUGH!

Get over it and buy a new one!

I have seen many instances on this forum where ppl have got replacement/free service even after the item is out of warranty. So I just want to give it a try. After all we are here to save money :-)

Ignore them, your statutory rights override any warranties. Read up on the 'Sales of Goods Act' and Consumer Rights regarding faulty goods, and decide whether you believe there is an expectation for a laptop battery to last more than "just over a year". Your complaint is with the retailer, and you'll have more success if you write a physical letter.

From personal experience with Dell, I'd suggest that you don't bother. I've generally been quite happy with my purchases from them, but their Customer Service has a terrible reputation, and you'll just waste hours trying.

Best bet (IMO) is to try to find a (non Dell original) replacement that's reasonably priced.

Have you used the battery the proper way discharging it and recharging it as recommended? If you haven't then take it on the chin and just buy another one.
