help me I'm most confused!!

Today was the day that my number was supposed to port over from T-mobile to my new o2 SIM. I've got 2 phones with a SIM in each from both companies which I've been switching on and off throughout the day to see what happens.

Now this is what I think is happening: both phones have the same number (my usual one) and the old T-mobile SIM is still working.
When I call my number on the land line - my old T-mobile phone rings, not the new o2.

I plan to unlock my old T-mobile nokia and transfer my new o2 SIM to that handset. The o2 SIM is currently in an ancient/house-brick handset.

Would this solve the problem?? (I can't try the new SIM in my usual phone as I need professional help to get the back off!:o )

Thanks
Alex x
