Iam no mechanic but just going on my own experice ive been told every 4 years even if you havent met the maximum mileage as the rubber can deteriorate. I had one snap on me after being changed 30,000 miles previous and cost me £1500 to get it all sorted
With yours being 5 years old now i would definitely get it done to avoide it snapping and causing real costley problems. 0 -
hi AUDI 06, when your service book was printed it was indeed 80k or 8 yrs, since then they have revised there cambelt intervals to 40k or 4 yrs, this has been due to a number of mainly tensioner failures and the odd belt running out of line with pulleys, guides and cams.
We as a garage always recommend on the vw/audi/seat/skoda group that this is best to be advised....hope this helps0
