LCD mounting issue

Hi all, I just got round to munting my new lcd on the wall and when I attempted to affix the back plate to the lcd the srews appear to be about 1mm too small.
Both items have VESA on them so something has obviously gone wrong.
I don't suppose anyone else has had this problem?? or could offer a soultion to this issue.
I am planning to head down to wicks tomorrow to see if I have any joy!
any advice welcome
Cheers.

you dont really supply much information for anyone to give advice, such as make of Lcd, type of bracket, and whether or not the bracket came for your particular make of television?

Did you get screws with the TV? If you did, use them.0

Sorry, I though all vesa stuff was genric.
The TV is a MIRAI DTL-527V200 27" LCD;
(http://www.mirai.eu/Uk/Products&cat_id=42)
Whilst the wall mount is from ebay;
(http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230057715065&rd=1&rd=1)
The TV did not come with any screws.Keep smiling, G.0 -
To determine if your LCD screen is VESA compatible:
Remove your stand (if necessary) and look for inserts in a 4 hole pattern - see the picture below to compare holes on the plate to the back of your TV. The 4 hole pattern is usually located in the middle of the monitor. You may have to remove the stand or remove the plastic cover panels to enable access to view.
Mount positions = fixed
I would check with the company you bought the LCD from check both the weight for the bracket you have purchased and ask the company what lengths of screws/bolts are available for your particular make and model of LCD seems like a pretty heavy LCD too.

Yes it is. Its the 100X100mm one. All the holes line up and everything so I'm a bit puzzled.Keep smiling, G.0

Personally i would not trust an expensive tv to such a small wall mount, i would have looked for one which would spread the weight of the tv over more wall space for example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Thin-LCD-TV-Wall-Mount-Large-Screen-JVC-Hitachi-Philips_W0QQitemZ330056345573QQihZ014QQcategoryZ48656QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
BUt hey i have plaster board walls and i was very paranoid when i put mine up i even put cushions on the floor for a few days in case it fell off :rotfl: :rotfl:"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
No, i am very confident of my fitting. (i tied a rope and swang my baby brother of it and I know he weighs more then the tv-NOT JOKING EITHER).Keep smiling, G.0

IF the TV didn't come with screws the manual should state the size and MAXIMUM LENGTH of the screw to use.
I emphasis maximum length because too long could cause damage.
I would think they are most likely to be M4 screws. You can get them at any DIY. I'm suprised the ones with the bracket don't fit.0 -

I hope you were filming this, if it had gone wrong it would have made a mess of the wall but you could have got £250 out of You've Been Framed.0 -
