static caravan decking and skirting

Hi, we have just purchased a static holiday caravan and would like to get some skirting and decking for it. Does anyone have any ideas of where we can purchase these extremely cheap, as they seem v expensive! The caravan is based in lincolnshire and we would consider putting it together ourselves. Thanks

    sometimes the park says you have to use the one they say to have all uniform (more like a backhander. What we did (north wales)found a colour and style we liked didnt want white and didnt want wooden floor wanted plastic composite deck boards . Found out who supplies (in our case Maple Plastics in Macclesfeild) phones them to see who fits in North Wales rang Them (verander king) got price down to what we both could handle and job done all happy...
    Different regulations on all parks. Plastic/wood....... subframe /steps...... colour/fire regs lots of questions. Or any decent joiner could knock one up. if you found the gear
    :cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:

    It's a bit late now I know but we had a decking installed (for the inlaws) a few weeks ago by the (un-originally called) Caravan Decking UK.

    We're lucky to be right in front of the sea on the site near Aberaeron and the deck has been supberb for just sitting and sipping while the sun goes down. Ahh! summer memories - while it lasted!

    The guys that installed it were great and even helped us take away our old shed and put in (and fill) a new one.

    Credit where it's due not sure if they operate outside of Wales though.

    My father-in-law used to work in a warehouse, and made his decking out of pallets. He was a joiner to trade and made it himself. It looked really nice as well! No help to you, OP, but his was virtually free, only needed the cost of transporting it to the site. But the site flooded and the whole thing washed away down the park lol

    Having worked in the industry - I can honestly say that Moneysavingexpert really needs to get involved. Some of the big Caravan Sites charge a massive commission on the verandahs and sun decks and skirting installed on the Vans. In fact one site I heard about in Portsmouth charged their Caravan Owners over 40% for basic decking and skirting on their Caravan Lodge- also these Parks have relationships with the decking companies, so you can't shop about - its restricted to those who give the biggest kick back to the Park. Sadly the companies they use to do the decking buil very inferior chaep decks. If you are thinking of buying a Static Caravan on one of the BIG PARKS do your research carefully before buying on a Park. The sales people will tell you you what you want to hear but as soon as you sign the contract things will change. We used a several really good decking companies who were very reasonable and built excellent decks: Supreme Decking, Summerdecking and Southern Decks - who were really excellent. I really recommend them - that is if your Park manager can resist the greed and not charge extra. Hope this helps
