Car is not as dangerous as the man made out, i drove it like a nervous wreck this morning. It is definitely much louder now than the accident. Halfords say it could have been made worse by the accident as it hit the back of me and then I try and straighten up it could have knocked the anti roll bar.
I think I am going to have problems with getting carshop to pay and also the insurance may say it was like that before the accident.
A friend who knows about cars says it might cost me about £500 to get it fixed unless its the bushels (which means nothing to me!)
    "bushes"

you will have to be more emphatic. if the bodyshop is sure that the suspension is very dangerous, then they must explain exactly where the fault lies, and if you are sure that the fault wasn't there before the accident, then the collision caused it, and the 3rd party's insurance should pay.

As asbokid says if the problem wasn't there before the accident then the third party's insurer will have to pay for the repair.

The fact that there was a recent mot is in your favour as if it was as dangerous as the bodyshop suggest then it would have been picked up in the mot test.

Having dealt with hundreds of insurance claims over the years I know that just because the impact was in a different area that doesn't mean damage can't be caused elsewhere on the car as a direct result of the accident. If all else fails you could get an independent engineer / assessor to inspect the vehicle & he should be able to determine what caused the problem - you will probably have to pay for this yourself but if it turns out it was caused in the accident then the third party insurer will reimburse you the cost of the report.

    Hi,

I see your still having probs,

Go to the MOT web site:

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/Mot/DG_10020539

here you can check any advisory notices for your vehicle, you need the reg no. and the MOT number from the MOT sheet, follow the on screen prompts and print out the results.

If the car had any advisories at the last MOT, these will be listed.

    Have fun...

No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.
Only after the last tree has been cut down. Only after the last fish has been caught. Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.
