help with gift ideas from new baby

hope someone can help me here

when we had our first daughter i bought my husband an ornament cant remember where from or what design but it was a squarish metal type fireplace ornament called daddy and me.

now we're expecting our 2nd girl shortly and i really want to get him a gift from me and the girls. I just cant think what!

I want to get him something to symbolise how much we love him and kind of a family thing, if it was me, i'd want a ring, as i have wedding and engagement rings from hubby and one ring from daughter, i'd want an eternity trilogy ring so i had one piece of jewellery from each of my family, but he doesnt like jewellery and only wears his wedding ring. he recently got a new watch....... so im struggling.....

any ideas please?

I have a beautiful carving that my FIL did for us when our son was born of a mother, father and child - he carved it out of a piece of wood salvaged from an item that was meaningful to my OH's childhood. It is a really lovely piece, and all the better for being so personal. Perhaps you could get something made, or painted, or even a photo printed, depending on your tastes and budget.

What about one of those silver keyrings with the thumb prints in them? Will look for a linky.

Earplugs? (he'll need them with 3 girls in the house!!).

How about the whole family going for a photoshoot?

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Just so you're aware, it is VERY difficult with tiny babies to actually get a fingerprint. I had my son's done at 6 months (silver cufflinks for Daddy's Christmas) & the lady had to try 5 or 6 times to get a decent fingerprint with some whorls & lines showing.

That said, the cufflinks have never been worn - my OH is petrified of wearing them in case he loses one. They have our son's print on one cufflink & our daughter's print on the other. :)

How about a bronze casting of their little hands or feet?

I bought my OH a T-shirt when our DD was born; it simply said I'm The Daddy! on the back with her name & DOB in smaller letters on the front pocket.

We had special china xmas tree ornaments for each child.

Mice-Elf - Where did you get the fingerprint cufflinks done?

Spendless - it was a lady that came round to a Softplay centre. First Impressions was the company. My SIL does these now as well, & she finds it very difficult with young babies to get a decent image that will still look like a fingerprint once it's been finished. :)

Christmas china ornament sounds lovely. Might have been added to my list of Christmas Presents for Grandparents....! : So thank you!
