Does anyone know of a piece of kit that you put your old 35mm slides in to - and it then copies the image onto a memory stick or your pc?I seem to think there is something "out there". Can someone help me? I really don't know what to buy my dad for his birthday, but he has lots of slides and I'm sure he'd love to be able to see them without getting the "projector" out!! Or does anyone have any ideas along a similar vein? Thanks for your help x

There are dedicated scanners available that do just that. However be prepared to 1) spend a fair bit of time doing it and 2) spend even longer with some photo editing software to spot clean the scans if you want a really good result (think of all the dust that's on the slides that will show on the scan even if you do clean them beforehand). Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

I used a HP A4 type flat bed scanner which had a slide attachment.
I scanned hundreds and they were fine. There shouldn't be an issue with dust etc if they have been kept in their boxes.
The other way is to buy a dedicated slide scanner... but it depends how many slides you have to make it worthwhile?
At least with an A4 scanner you will still use it afterwards?
