Funnily enough, extreme matchy matchy ends up looking cheap and tacky to me. Matching dresses, flowers, invitations, table pieces, favours, baloons, chair covers, tablecloths etc etc etc make me feel like I'm in a branded chain 'theme' restaurant or at a kids themed party! I think having matchy matchy everything is for people who don't have much confidence in putting things, colours and styles together nicely, it's the easy option.

Which isn't saying that it can't look nice, but I think it's harder to make matchy matchy look classy.

personally for me I prefer the 'matchy matchy' as someone put it (love that phrase!) cos I'm anal and need everything to be just so. And my colour scheme is purple (varying shades) cos it's my favourite colour.

But I've been to weddings both with and without a scheme or stuff matching and both are great. As long as it's what you want/like and reflects you then go for it!

p.s matchy matchy is not tacky...my wedding is not tacky! Nooooo!! :)
