Summer Ball Cardiff -need help selling tickets and getting items to auction please!

Hello everybody,

My name is Claire. I am currently fundraising for Bobath which is a treatment centre for children with cerebral palsy in Wales (charity no: 1010183). I have organised a Summer ball at the Cardiff City Stadium on on the 23rd June.

This event is part of a greater picture of fundraising activities which myself and my friend Micaela have organised with the aim of raising £6000. We will be working in a school in India and are also taking on the challenge of trekking in the Himalayas.
Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales is a charity which is very close to my heart because Micaela’s little boy Cai has cerebral palsy and is on the waiting list for treatment.

So please could anybody suggest the best ways to try and sell tickets and also how to get auction prizes. I have written to all local football/rugby clubs/theatres.

Thanks very much
C x

  • Hi Claire,

You could contact the South Wales Echo, Pontypridd Observer, Rhondda Leader, Merthyr Express etc and ask them to print your story, you may get some donations from the readers and local businesses.

You could also have a page on www.justgiving.com for people to make a donation online.

    Goodluck with the fundraising.

Get a local days out and eating out guide and write or email everybody listed. Explaining what your doing and why, not all will be able to help and some wont reply there will also be people happy to donate for such a good cause.
Also write to some local companies asking if they would be willing to sponsor apart of the evening or donate a prize in return for advertising on the evening. Good Luck

We went too "The Pink Ball" Which is a annual event organised in aid of Velindre also held in ccfc . People who helped were, Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Joe Calzage, Cardiff City FC, Cardiff Blues, lots of local hotels inc St Davids Spa, John Lewis, Debenhams gave vouchers. Hilton gave a "sleepover" for a group. I cannot remember anything else. We also played heads or tails, where everyone in the room pays £1 you put your hands on head or bum, some tosses a coin and then continue till 1 person left and they won a bottle of champagne hth x
