2x Barclays CC's PPI Reclaim from early 90s

Hi, first time poster, long time lurker :)

Been trying to find time to research what if anything I can reclaim from two credit cards Barclays issued to me in the early 90s that I believe included mis-sold PPI. Any help is much appreciated.

When both cards were issues in 1992, by an adviser at a Barclays bank branch, I queried the PPI payments and was not told they were optional.

Creditcard 1 (Mastercard), Between the issue date and 2005 (approx 13 years) this card had been near the maximum credit limit (£1250) incurring PPI on top during that time. I cancelled the PPI payments on this card in 2005. This card is still open.

Creditcard 2 (Visa) Between the issue date and 2002 (approx 10 years) this card had been near the maximum credit limit (£1250) incurring PPI on top during that time. I paid this card off in full and closed it in 2002.

Would you say I have a reasonable reclaim case for both cards?

I should still have some records for the older Visa card. Need to confirm the exact dates and amount from Barclays on both. Does this need to be in writing?

When making claims based on credit cards this old are there any additional requirements, not detailed in ML's PPI reclaim check list (/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim)?

Thanks again

Chas

Give barclays a ring, they still had my records back to 1999 when I took my card. However they told me I had no ppi on it even though I am sure I did. Not sure if they lied to me, I need to fond an old statement to find out for sure

    Hi

Try calling in the branch, speak to the manager, and ask them to go through all the accounts you have taken out with them, you do not have to give them any reasons why.
A few now have done this by actually making a visit to their local branch, and have been lucky to retrieve data going back 10 years+, good luck.

If you bank with them, they will do this by just putting in your bank account number.

Does it have to be the original branch or will any do?

    Thanks di.
