Cheap Cat Flap

Hi all,
We are going to get a cat flap for our cat as she loves being outdoors and we would like her to be able to come and go as she pleases!
its only going in a thin uPVC panel by the door and we don't need any magnet type things, so is a bog standard one from argos/supermarket/pets at home an ok buy? don't need a tunnel or anything and just need to be able to lock it if needed (eg getting her into basket for the vets!!).
Thanks

hello,Our dog puts his paw in the catflap to pull the door open and as a result he has broke 3 catflaps, the last time this happened we were short of cash and l was amazed to see one in poundland, thought we would try one (didn't expect much for a £1) but so far so good.We had it for about 4 months and no probs as yet,you can lock it (although we haven't used the lock) l would be happy to buy another one.hope this helps.PPLBM-29/08/07

I have a basic Staywell Original Pet Door Small (under £10 from many stockists) which works very well. What I like is the panel you slip through the flap frame/housing to lock it - since the panel is solid plastic, it's easy to see the thing's locked because it's opaque. For me, this stops my (very strong) boy cat chewing at the plastic frame in frustration when he can't open the flap and can't work out why.0
