Home networking - what else do I need?

I have decided to try and take the plunge.

I have just aquired a couple of Netgear network atapters (1 x FA331, 1 x FA311). What else do I need to network my two PC and can they then be used for for shared web-browsing? What type of cables do I need?

I'm not sure if these are any good for this. There is a mass of information but they all assume some kind of knowledge or that you have certain pieces of equipment.

I'm not sure I have any of this - especially the knowledge!!

Thanks.

S.

a crossover Cat5 cable between the 2 Network cards , then use Internet connection sharing ( ICS ) to share the link

if you are using Xp on both PC's then it more or less sets it up for you !!

only downside of this set up is that the main PC (the broadband connected one ) has to be on for the other PC to work

the alternative is to buy a router or modem/router and plug both PC's into that so they can be used independently by using standard CAT 5 cables
