Need a new mattress - any advice

I need a mattress for my guest room - my own mattress was bought 300 miles away so I'm very disappointed I can't go back to the same place. (My mattress cost £100 and is the best mattress I've ever had)
I'm very confused - what the difference between foam and sprung - any tips would be really helpful - I won't want to spend more than £200 if possible and son't want anything too soft........ thanks!

try and look up your mattress on the internet (its name brand) and then take it from there, I think foam is like the memory stuff, but, i am not sure, best way with any mattress is to try it out at the purchasing shop, but make sure you select the right base for the right mattress.

I also have an ikea one. Its for the spare bed. the previous matress was a 'value' one. Its not slept in often but even so the springs came through. Bought a Sultan one from ikea I think it was £80. But if you can lie on it first. I think its a great matress but my hubby doesnt like it at all! Its a foam type with no springs in to go0

Its quite pricey, but by far the best matress I have EVER slept on. There is quite a few of these Futon Company shops around the country, so there may be one near you. They quite often have good sales, so if you could wait till after xmas you may get yourself a bargin!:money:0
